Der einmal jährlich in Wien stattfindende Life Ball ist Europas größter Charity-Event im Kampf gegen HIV und Aids. Im Zeichen von Solidarität und Toleranz feiert der Life Ball das Leben und vereint Menschen aller Gesellschaftsschichten im Bestreben, Geld für Betroffene zu lukrieren und Aufklärung zu betreiben.
Am 26.05. ging der 15. Lifeball über die zahlreichen Bühnen des Wiener Rathauses. Im Rampenlicht standen u.a. Sharon Stone, Natallie Dessay, Nadja Auermann, Earth, Wind and Fire, The Scissor Sisters, No Angels, Eric Papilaya und Florian Boesch. Erstmals wurde die Eröffnung live im ORF Hauptabendprogramm übertragen. Am Rathausplatz verfolgten ca. 40.000 Besucher die schrille Show.

Nach einjähriger Pause stand Andreas Frei für den Sound der Eröffnung am Rathausplatz hinter dem Mischpult. Für die reibungslose technische Leitung war wie immer Andreas Ratz verantwortlich, der Stage Monitor Sound lag in den bewährten Händen von Jochen Petri, die beeindruckende Beschallungsanlage von For Music Verleih wurde hervorragend betreut von Heinz Luschtinez.

The annual Life Ball which takes place in Vienna is Europe’s largest charity event in the fight against HIV and Aids. The Life Ball celebrates life under the sign of solidarity and tolerance while uniting people from all walks of life, raising funds for the afflicted and driving awareness and education issues.
On May 26 the 15th Lifeball hit the numerous stages inside and outside the Vienna City Hall. Amongst others the ceremony featured celebrities and stars like Sharon Stone, Nadja Auermann, Natallie Dessay, Earth, Wind and Fire, The Scissor Sisters, No Angels, Eric Papilaya und Florian Boesch. For the first time the opening show was broadcasted live by the Austrian television, the ORF. A crowd of aprox. 40.000 peple followed the event on the Rathausplatz.
After a one year break Andreas Frei stood behind the console again for the opening show. As technical director it was Andreas Ratz who granted a perferct rundown. The stage monitoring was mixed by Jochen Petri, and the gigantic PA system from For Music Verleih was supervised by Heinz Luschtinez.
